U.S. President Readers

Community Question is a category inspired by you. Here and there readers write in with questions that are better served by the varied, experiential knowledge of those who read and contribute in the comments. Please respond to this post in the comments, but if you have a question for the community email it to Heather.

The following question is from Susan B.

“My high school sons and I will be studying the U.S. Presidents this school year. We love reading books aloud (I read aloud and they listen.) about our subject. We read many of the American History books suggested here, plus many more I found from other lists and the library. We also incorporated audios, DVDs, and websites.

I would like the help of the homeschool community in compiling a reading list of really good fiction, non-fiction, audios, DVDs, etc. about U.S. Presidents that we could read throughout the year as we study each president. We are not adverse to reading younger age readers as long as it is historically accurate and centered around a president, but would prefer older-age readers. Any help would be greatly appreciated.”

Time to create another fabulous resource together! What books, audios, DVDs, etc…would you recommend for studying the U.S. Presidents?
