The following question is from Yulia W.
“We are an American family living for the next 2-3 years in Kazakhstan. We have four girls ages 10, 8, and 7-year old twins. All four of them are going to the local school where all the teaching is in Russian.
While it was very hard in the beginning, they went above and beyond my expectations and are now finishing their first year in a foreign school with straight A’s.
I am happy with the education they are getting except they have a big gap in English (writing and grammar, their reading is well above the grade level) and History, both World and American. My oldest will start a History of Kazakhstan in 5th-grade next year, but he will not take World History for another two years and, of course, he will not learn American History at all.
So, I thought I could teach those subjects to them but being new to homeschooling I do not know what curriculum to choose considering our situation. I would need something with developed lesson plans as I do not have much time for extensive preparations.
If you could give me any advice, I would really appreciate it!”
